Privacy policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

At The Hardwood Hall, we're committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to serve you:

  • Contact and delivery details — your name, email, phone number, and delivery and billing addresses.
  • Order information — your purchases, any custom-order specifications, delivery instructions, and our correspondence with you.
  • Website data — collected through cookies when you browse our site.

Payments: card details are collected and processed directly by our secure payment providers listed on our website. We never see or store your full card number.

We collect information directly from you (when you order, enquire or subscribe), automatically through cookies, and occasionally from our delivery partners (such as tracking updates).

How we use your information

We use your information to process, make and deliver your orders; send order confirmations and receipts; respond to enquiries and provide after-sales and warranty support; keep business records and meet our legal and tax obligations; improve our products and website; and — only if you've opted in — send you marketing.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services we rely on to run the business:

  • Shopify — the platform that hosts our store and processes orders;
  • our payment providers — to process payments securely;
  • delivery and freight partners — to deliver your order and provide tracking;
  • our email provider — to send order emails and, if you've subscribed, our newsletter;
  • professional advisers (such as our accountant) — for business administration; and
  • government agencies or law enforcement — only where the law requires or authorises it.

Some of these providers, including Shopify and our payment provider, store data on secure servers located overseas (including the United States). We use reputable providers that maintain strong privacy and security commitments.

Marketing

We only send marketing emails to people who have opted in. Every message identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe link, which we action promptly, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can also opt out anytime by emailing info@thehardwoodhall.com.au.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to keep essential features working (like your cart and checkout), remember your preferences, and help us understand site usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though checkout and some features may not function properly without essential cookies.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, misuse and loss — including using established, security-certified platforms, limiting access to your information, and never storing card numbers. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above and to meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask us at any time to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where we no longer need it for legal or record-keeping purposes.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its "last updated" date, will always be available on this page.
